He quite likes it when she sits still long enough for a chat, even if she is working her phone at the same time
Because he quite likes it when her friends say hello to him and she has to roll her eyes at the thought of her Dad being a favourite.
And he quite likes it when she thinks back to being a little girl, because he arranged his work hours specially so he could spend plenty of time with her. So he loves it when she says "Remember the time Mum was away and you had to do my ballet bun and that was the day the TV cameras came and I had to go on the news with Dad Hair?"
And then he likes it when she asks if he's going to be wearing his work clothes, his suit, when he comes to the concert
But he also likes it when she moans about his special barbecue shorts and the crumbs in his beard.
And he knows that she knows that he knows that she really only said yes to the new trampoline when the old one wore out because that was one more project, one more thing he could make for her.
So I suspect he liked it a lot when she was able to wish him a Happy Fathers Day at midnight after he stayed up to drive her home from the party. Because that's what he does.

There's something special about fathers and daughters. I've loved watching my girls through the years with their "daddy." They still rely on him today to handle home repairs and all things car related. That now includes the granddaughters!!
Awww, sweet post. Isn't it wonderful that they have such a special bond.
