You Would?

...well, it certainly a possibility. It's one of those things we talk about vaguely every so often, until it gets dropped again, along with that plan to start a retirement commune for everyone in the family (actually, not dropped: just postponed until bits start falling off the oldest and we have to get serious), or the plan to leave everything and camper van across Europe ( now you mention it, also not dropped, not completely)

But this, smaller plan, she realised was edging towards happening when she came back from one of her many, many 18th birthday celebrations and found us reading a new book

You wouldn't she said. Would you?

Oh, just watch us. Because, as you all know by now, once I've bought the book, I'm gettin' serious.
The name? Mrs Blair? Now that's another story entirely.

Layout made with selections from the May kits at Gossamer Blue. Little dog diecut from Simple Stories and puffy number stickers from Pink Paislee, both in the Life Pages kit. Woodgrain paper and big black alpha from Simple Stories in the Main Kit.

How funny, we were seriously discussing rehoming a Border terrier at the weekend. We've talked about getting a dog on many occasions over the past 20 years, but this was the closest we came to actually doing it!

Well, good luck with the decision. Looking forward to hearing the story of Mrs. Blair, regardless.

oooh! Border Terriers are sooo cute. Almost cute as 18 yo's, heehee!!! Good on you. We would not be without a Dog - they add so much to a family:):)
CUTE page, too:)

A lovely chuckle today thanks Sian. Our dogs drive us bats sometimes but most of the time they are just brilliant 😊 Go for it!

Replacing your daughter with a dog? Sounds fair enough to me. We have always had a family dog but they are quite a tie especially now you have all that freedom of no kids at home.....you sure you wouldn't prefer a pony? We have the reverse problem of trying to downsize our animal family namely the poor old pony needs a new home.

You'll never regret getting a dog, but hey, why not go the whole nine yards and get a Chocolate Labrador?! Ours is simply wonderful and very much part of the family.

Eek - things are getting serious!!

Actually, it worked the other way around here. We had a dog and when he had to be put down because of old age related illnesses, we decided not to replace him. With all the travel we've ended up doing, it was a good decision, although I frequently miss having a pet here. The journaling on the layout brought a smile to my face; just perfect!

Made me smile Sian. We did things the other way round. We always had a dog in our family until our children grew up and left home, and we did not replace our 17 year old family friend as life was starting on a new course, with me starting to work full time.
We've had a campervan most of our married life and our dog used to come everywhere with us. My daughter is looking to get a dog and word has it that we will be asked to look after it when they go on holiday. But hopefully as they are campers too the dog will be joining in just like ours did.
There is so much we still want to see in UK that taking our campervan abroad isn't on our list, though who knows? Looking forward to hearing more about your new addition.

Great layout Sian!
Love the way you have captured the essence of that time in life, a real crossroad.

You should so get a dog!! They fill the need to nurture and make you feel that you are the best human every day. Having said that, we are trying to convince ourselves to not get more dogs once my girlies pass along. They are 10 and 13 now and we figure at some point we want some freedom to pick up and go when we want. No one in our family is convinced that we will not get more dogs. Looking forward to seeing how this all unfolds with Mrs. Blair. :)

Exciting! We acquired Coco by accident, but she's been an amazing addition to the family and we can't imagine not having her now. When Rachel does come round to take her dog back for a weekend, it seems so empty without her. I can see there being a custody battle once she's on proper maternity leave!

Aw - that's fun news, Sian! I never loved a dog before our Lucky and now I wouldn't trade him for the world. A pup would be a fun addition to your blogging and scrapbooking as well! Looking forward to learning more about the upcoming new addition! :o)

I love the part where it says "Decision still to be made" lol.

Gorgeous page Sian and I so love the photo

Oh my, what a great page . . . for a huge decision! We like to travel way too much to have a pet around here; we can pick up & go at a moment's notice! :)

I grew up with dogs and cats around but we took the decision thirty years ago that we loved them all too much to inflict our lifestyle on them. We like to be able to go out and not have to worry about getting home to let the dog out. If we had a dog the time we went out for dinner and came back two days later because of a sudden snow storm and being the wrong side of a snow drift - well I would have been a bit upset.

The journaling in blocks made me smile. Wookie and I joke about dogs, he said early on in our relationship, 'it would be a dog or me'. So I remind him occasionally that so far he has won ;)

Such a lot of fun, this page! Not just your pretty design and interesting bits to admire, but the content ... Golly, a dog ... MIght it not curtail the camper van in Europe idea? (That's on our list too!). Looking forward to seeing what you do!

Great page and I'm looking forward to future posts on this subject :) I wouldn't/couldn't be without my boy, I actually told Maddie that if I'd got the dog first I would never have had her (she knew I was kidding...just) lol
