January at Gossamer Blue

Imagine the scene. I'm busy printing pictures and sliding cards into pockets. I'm making December Memories. The doorbell rings and the postman hands over the box I've been waiting for. I clear a space on my desk filled with Christmas. I pull out bright new papers: pinks, reds, cheerful colours for the start of the New Year. I'm thinking January at Gossamer Blue..and then...

Sian Fair for Gossamer BLue

well, I think the pages I finally got back to making several days later tell the story.

A title which came about as I played around with a "Valentines" enamel word sticker from Crate Paper in the main kit. I rearranged the letters to spell the Latin for "farewell"

Without any question, 2106 is going to be the year of the immune system. I've had enough! No more antibiotics! No more it might be a virus! Farewell to all of it!

But I wasn't the only one:

Sian Fair for Gossamer Blue

He was sick before he went out with friends and a lot worse when he returned; and in the end that meant he stayed here with us instead of rushing back to Scotland for Hogmanay. We've all been delighted to have his company. With that missed flight, Christmas here suddenly stretched out for a few more days. It's been good.

The colours in the January kits are perfect! Valentines pages are a possibility, definitely; but as you can see there are plenty of other ways to take them. I have more layouts in hand. Gossamer Blue January right here

oh love these pages! Not the part where you guys were sick, 'cause that stinks but they make me happy that you recorded it! Super pretty new stuff to play with too! That has got to be an immune system booster, wouldn't you say?

Oh you poor thing, that immune system needs a good talking to. Ear and sinus infections are no fun, even more so at Christmas.
The second page definitely proves that every cloud has a silver lining, sorry he was poorly but a bonus of having him home a little longer!
Get well soon!

Sian! You have been so unlucky with these infections. I am not a great believer in homeopathy but have you tried echinacea? It sounds like you have something you are not shaking off. I had to smile at your son still partying. I can remember doing such things when I lived in London and then having to go home to recover! At least you had him for a bit longer. Now get taking some Vitamin C and take it easy. What we need is some good old frosts to get rid of these bugs.

Well, the pages are fantastic, and I do love the colors of this kit! The topics, however, leave a lot to be desired and I hope you are right about 2016---no more illness!

Hopefully all the illness has been left in 2015!!

Happy New Year, Sian! I hope you both are 100% now. Sickness hit me Christmas Eve but at least was decent enough to wait until the 27th to slam me. I'm eager to see what you have planned for us in 2016 as I hope to join in :)

Happy new year Sian. Wishing you and your family a happy and healthy 2016.

That photo looks rather familiar as I've been battling a horrid cold and cough all over the Christmas period. But like you, I've had enough ... So let's make a pact.. We've had enough lol x

Whilst I wouldn't wish illness on anyone I'm glad it meant extra family time! The colours are just so fresh and 'new year' in that kit and you've made two wonderful pages.
Who but you would make a LO with a photo of a bottle of cough medicine (that's a compliment by the way)! Love it x

NOT nice. At all. Good luck with fighting this one off. Thank goodness for compensations like family around longer. Absolutely ADORE your brights here. But you'd know I think that, right???!!!

Sorry to hear you've been poorly again. My boy said his flatmates have been ill most of the term between them. He's been lucky to avoid it. I had visions of him bringing home a bug and us all dropping like flies over the festive period. My suggestion would be Sambucol. I don't take it daily as recommended, but whenever the children seem on the verge of going down with something I start swigging it and (without wanting to jinx myself here!) I've avoided their germs for the past year. Even the dreaded September "Back to school" bugs. Hoping you're all at fighting strength soon x

I really like that you've documented these stories. You'll be able to look back later this year and see how much better you're doing as you strengthen your immune system. We're working on making healthy choices this year and hoping for no illness around here, too!

Hope you are both much better now. Love how you scrap the everyday and the here and now.

Happy New Year dear friend!
I've just had a nice read through of your blog posts from this month.
I adore your Christmas memories album and am waiting with baited breath to hear how it was received. I'm sure I would have been in tears myself.
And isn't it wonderful to have your boy home? And Uncle Dave to boot!
I'll be waving hi tomorrow with a Christmas round-up.

Beautiful pages Sian but oh! those bugs. Wheres the frost we so badly need? Echinacea is really good but you need to start taking it early in the season for best effect as it really does build up your immune system. There's still a long way to go before summer so I'd give it a whirl. I do hope you are better soon.

oh yuck on the being sick but I'm glad you are feeling better and had more time with the student.

Great use of the Valentines Kit for non Feb pages.

What vivid colours Sian - just what is needed during they grey days and short daylight hours.
It seems you were plagued by sickness over Christmas and are not yet recovered. I do hope February brings some change for you and I am full of admiration how you managed to keep blogging and scrapbooking even though you were unwell. What a trooper you are!!
