Me On Monday

It was the weekend of camping, cricket scoring ...and crutches.

Oh. Yes. While the big kids were rushing about, being all official, counting things and putting up tents and frying bacon and conquering climbing towers, our favourite little kid was having to sit down a lot. Because Little E..

...has fractured his foot! Something unpleasant to do with a metal pole, I heard. Didn't sound nice.

It's almost exactly a year since I did the same thing, so we've been texting.

How is your poor foot today? I wrote

Sore,  it came back, in one word. Poor Little E! He's in plaster and has been getting about with the help of a natty pair of yellow crutches. Let's keep our fingers crossed for him: he's due to go on holiday in a couple of weeks.

The rest? It was a jalfrezi eating, fish n chip supper munching, new Game of Thrones DVD watching, whatever Dad wants, Dad gets kind of weekend. And a two trips to the campsite, bathroom basin fixing, lawn mowing, new mattress buying one too, so he put in the hours, we can't deny it. Lucky it was a present giving weekend too, then.

Me? I'm taking a sneaky peek at one of those Father's Day gifts. They think they're being funny, but actually there's some good stuff in here..

Louise, Jo, Deb, Ruth, Barbara, Helena, Eileen, Mary-Lou, Ladkyis, Sheena, Fiona all gave us a wave last week. I'm waving back to all of you, and all of you and wishing us all a good start to the week. Have a great one.

Won no! Poor Little E! Fingers crossed that the plaster can be off in time for his holiday, or there's going to be some very strange tan lines when it is removed! Takes me back to the year we took our son on holiday with his arm in a sling. And the time he had his thumb strapped up. And the time he cut his foot open on the first day ... What is it with boys and holidays?!

I feel so bad for Little E---a broken foot right at the beginning of summer! That's just not right! I hope he heals quickly so he can enjoy the pool soon!

Oh poor Little E. Hope the pain is gone quickly and he's on the mend. Interesting book there, I'll have to keep it in mind for John's birthday. :)

Poor thing, I hope he heals quickly. It doesn't seem that a year has passed already since we were reading about your mishap.

I love the sound of the pair of you sharing your injury stories! Wishing Litte E a speedy recovery.

As I've skipped lunch today [don't tell my Mam] the idea of your Jalfrezi/fish+chips is rather tormenting me right now ... I'll best make a start on tea. Soon!!

I hope this week treats you well xx

Hope little E heals quickly! That book looks great... has me wondering if they make one for the iPhone. I know I have not even begun to tap its potential...

Poor Little E; hope the pain is short-lived and he learns to get around on those crutches! I'd be interested in that book, as well.

Now there's a great book :). It looks larger in size than usual - don't tell me it's in large print too! Oh, that's tough for little E (and his parents - what a fright). Warmest good wishes all round ...

Oh dear poor Little E. I hope it mends soon. Funny how they like to buy joke presents for their dads. Emma bought Brian a nice wooden box with a hearing aids label for Brian. I confess I bought an IPad for beginners book when I first had an iPad. It was very useful!
