So This is Scrapbooking: Natalie and Punky Scraps

Hello there! Welcome to this week's So This is Scrapbooking and a new peek behind the scenes of a scrapbooking life. Today I'd like you to meet Natalie Macdonald who runs the fabulous challenge blog Punky Scraps

Natalie's Story

The story behind Punky Scraps:

I am an eclectic scrapbooker by design. I REFUSE to follow rules and trends. That is not to say that I make trends I just don't like following.

Scrapbooking is art and art is your own for you to decipher in any way at all.  I've always used paints and inks before the trend of the mixed media boom. I found that my pages and my style were very different to what was out there in blog land and I found others too who had a love for splashes of bright colours, paints, inks, ripping paper, imperfect photos, stamps and a love of taking risks.

So, I decided to set up a small space on the interweb where you could forget trends or  rules and grab a coffee whilst matching inks and paints with your Prima and this Punky Scraps was born in 2010.

It's a small challenge blog with a truly inspirational funky team and we have had some fabulous guests design with us! We have one challenge per month: a sketch, a picture inspiration or a recipe challenge - or all three at once to inspire and take you out of your comfort zone.
Occasionally we have sponsors to donate prizes but our very own DT and myself donate scrappy goodies to reward you for your arty goodness.

Shortly after the blog was set up, I was involved in a serious RTA and so the blog had to be put on hold. We are now back with a new Punky inspirational team, new kits for prizes and brand new challenges.

We hope you will pop by and join us in creating out of your comfort zone!

So This is Scrapbooking! Thanks Natalie for giving us some scrapbooking Punky Scraps style. I was delighted with the beautiful examples of Design Team work Natalie sent me to show you today: find more from Marie, Tammy, Kerry, Kat, Jolanda, Lotta, Sara, Amy, Helene, Lee and Wendy on their Punky Scraps page. And then check out the February challenge. There's a prize!

Natalie Macdonald runs Punky Scraps, blogs here, writes for Scrap365 and on top of all that she teaches Chemistry. Impressed? I am! Pay her a visit, say hello: she'd be delighted to meet you.

I love how people follow their art and how we each find beauty in it

This encourages me to step out of my comfort zone with layouts! I've just ventured into art journaling, and bet some of those techniques would work wonderfully with scrapbooking! Thanks for sharing.

Just been and had a look at Punky Scraps and it looks like so much fun! I think I'm too controlled and I worry too much about my layouts a lot. I should just let go! x
