The Storytelling Sunday Page

Last week I told the story of the Teddy who wasn't there. I had a lot of fun reading the comments; and I was especially intrigued by the thought behind the one asking - when did your parents own up? I made this page in reply.

My parents were probably slightly older and slightly stricter than most of the others I knew, but they did recognise the value of a furry frined. When I threw a toy out of y pram, they walked for miles looking for it. When I started Nursery School, my Mum made sure I had a tiny pink Teddy in my pocket for company. And when I was taken into hospital, she made a special trip home not just for Ted Fred, but for my favourite doll too.

I am absolutely sure Fred's escape had nothing to do with my Mum or Dad.

Happy Sunday!

I absolutely love this page Sian. I love the fresh, clean lines and the colours are just perfect. A real 'springtime' page.
I'm thinking that maybe a sibling could have been the culprit ... as you rightly say, your parents would have known exactly what the loss of Ted would have meant!

Very pretty - it looks to me that someone has moved on from playing with furry friends to playing with an electronic die-cutter - what say you?

I'm with Kelli something about the page made me think classic Winnie the Pooh. Gorgeous with the white on white and touches of colour and texture.

This photo was begging for a layout of its own - glad you created one, and a gorgeous one it is too Sian. Love the white on white and big bow x

Sounds like very understanding parents. Maybe Fred just wanted an adventure of his own while y'all were away! :>)

I adore this page Sian. Beautiful embellishments, but their arrangement is what really makes the layout, I think.

What a lovely fresh, springlike page. Glad to see that white card has been put to such good use.

Some children don't seem to have that need for a furry friend while others, like me, still have the bear the were given as a baby. My youngest granddaughter has Harry Bear who, until recently went everywhere except school with her. I felt her loss when she left him at Uncle Mark's house and I held and cuddled her at home, while mummy drove the 12 miles there and 12 miles back because "Harry can't sleep without me"

Sian, talk about an absolutely perfect nursery-age page. The colors, the motifs, the cut-out title are all simply adorable. I suspect there will be a lot of 'lifts of this one!
