Journal Your Christmas - I'm Making a List

That's a full week's worth of December pages we're up to now and my album is filling up nicely. Preparing the base pages last month has definitely helped.

For the 6th I did this one:

That's me on the left with my hand in my mouth
about the amazing cardboard "Super Shop" Christmas. No, it doesn't look like a shop here on my pull-out photo page. It also turned into a house! If you are thinking that toddler on my Mum's knee looks like Little E, you'd be right. That's his Mum. I really should do a page about that, too. He looks so very much like she did at the same age. And he'll be getting a cardboard house of his own this year. I hope he likes it.

For the 7th I did this one:

I had printed out a photo of the Keep Calm poster for something else, but I thougt it would look good here, as a pullout.
They are getting big now, our two. Dolls houses and train sets have been replaced by teenage hopes and dreams - an easily passed driving test for one, world domination for the other. The best I can do is shop for a few bits and pieces I hope they'll enjoy. Maybe a set of "L" plates; and, I'm thinking, world domination probably comes easier with a labeller machine (pink, limited edition). For making your mark. What do you reckon?

Storytelling Sunday news - we reached 300! Actually, with the addition of Fiona's, we are now at 301 stories for the year. Gail asked if I had any idea how many storytellers we had had - I thought that was a great question, so I had a look and I think we reached 48. That's 48 bloggers all telling their tales and linking them up. What can I say? Thank you!

What a lovely photo to have and the resemblance to Little E is very striking.
How cool to have reached that magic 300 stories. I'm gradually making my way around this month's tales. I'm about half way now.

your book is lovely Sian, liking the top photo.....Little E will love his house and pink is just a colour says Stan who goes for pink before any other colour!!

I've struggled this year with H who'll be entering his teenage years next year - he's put two things on his list. The best bit though was Stan when writing his list he said I love Christmas you even get things you don't put on your list! Aww bless that is what Christmas is all about.

Oh and Yes to the pink labeller - sounds perfect xx

Oooh such envy over the super shop!
I discovered recently that "my" Dolls house that I loved so much was actually my eldest cousin's before it was mine and she had always thought that her mother had sold it, until she saw pictures of my daughter playing in it. She can't have it back because my boys destroyed it!

What a great cardboard house & photo of it! I like the idea of the page about E & his mom. I need to do that with my nephew & great-nephew - the look so much alike that I've had to go back & label all my old photos of my nephew (the only boy in the family until now) so I don't get them confused later on!!

What exciting news about Storytelling Sunday - I've enjoyed it so much this year, writing my own & reading everyone else's stories!

How lovely that TTO abd TNSSO are content with what they already have ~ comes from great parenting, obviously. DS wants a bendy bus and I read today that his favourite #207 was withdrawn from service at lunchtime today! He'll be distraught!
Your album is looking fantastic, did you say what size it was ~ can't remember.

Amazing job on the story telling. I know what you mean about gifts for the bigger kids. Henry is asking for speakers for his car! I'm sure Clara will want clothes. How I miss the trains and the play houses.

I'm really enjoying your pages Sian and being the mother on more grown up children I understand what you're saying. This year, mind you, my eldest (23) has had quite a list going on - to the point where I've had to say "no more!" xx

I am really enjoying seeing how your album is taking shape! Yes, teenagers are hard to buy. That is terrific that your kids are not materialistic. :)

Gorgeous pages as always! I am making a list of pages to do, does that count? Although I like your idea of a page of "I was busy"!

I know what you mean about what Santa can bring for older 'children'..DD just keeps telling me that Santa hasn't got it wrong so far, so she is happy to see what surprises he'll bring! Really enjoying seeing your journal fill up

Sounds like a good idea.
I`m a little worried about what`s up next because the six year only had one wish this year - a lipstick:)
Lovely pages!

How wonderful that they are both so unmaterialistic [is that a word??]....though world domination sounds a bit difficult to conjure up.....the driving test success may be a bit easier!!!! Hopefully the labeller will set her off on the right road!!
We have one who would also like a 'free pass' to driving test success...but if I hear the dulcet tones of the'theory CD' many more times....it may just end up in the bin!!!

TEYO and TFYO were composing letters to Santa last week - well TEYO went along with TFYO because she wanted to draw what she thought she'd like ... she thought it would be easier for Santa to actually see the request. Anyway, throughout the process TEYO was heard saying that he doesn't really need to write a letter because he always loves the surprise Santa delivers and that everything has been good so far. Sometimes I could squeeze him with joy!

Pillowcases? Wow, there are some lucky teens! We only do socks. :) I am sure with all that creativity, they'll be full to the brim with delights. I recognise the world domination desire - that was my DS's firm conviction of what he'd be doing by 30!

Oh I can't wait to see your finished journal, it is looking so lovely, I love paper bag books, so much room for everything! Well done on Story Telling Sunday Sian. 48 bloggers, 301 stories, that's got to be in your month in numbers. wow!

Great pages!!! I love the outlining around the title, it really makes it stand out. I agree about preparing the pages last month, It's helped me out loads in keeping up to date with daily entries.

Your journal is going to be fabulous, I hope little E likes his present. Congratulations on reaching 300 stories.

your album is looking fab! I've still done nothing! But I have plans to make something starting next Tuesday - 12 days to Christmas plus Christmas day plus the 12 days after Christmas! That's the plan anyway!

Really loving the colour scheme of your pages this year Sian.
You are to be commended for gathering together over 300 stories this year and each and every one of them so interesting and often uplifting. I am so glad I was able to join in a couple of times. Your blogging friends left such lovely comments on my blog; it was wonderful!

Keep Calm and Carry On is one of my favorite phrases. I have a little note box with that on it right beside my computer, but I never really thought about how appropriate it is during the holiday season. I think that's pretty much what I'm doing now. Carrying on, and keeping pretty calm!

Beautiful pages! I'm glad I made my base pages early too! Kids grow up fast, don't they... my son just turned eight yesterday and I am in shock he's that old already!

I'm intrigued by Christmas gifts being stuffed into pillowcases. That's a tradition I haven't heard about before. Whatever...as long as everyone has fun!

I have similar teenagers... My favourite Christmas list irem was 'new bootlaces' - there is a problem with raising non materialistic teenagers.
