Five of My Guilty Pleasures

A post entirely inspired by Deb who this week sent me the funny nostalgia-fest "I Think I Love You" by Allison Pearson.( She wrote about here ). Thanks Deb - you've got me wishing I'd kept that big pile of Jackie magazines..

Anyway, on a Saturday morning made for relaxing, here are five of my guilty pleasures:

  1. An easy read, or three. Marion Keyes always goes down well. Or, for less girly moments, you can't beat a bit of Nelson De Mille.
  2. Salt and Cracked Black Pepper flavour kettle chips. Or Sweet Chilli flavour. Sometimes. But never a mix.
  3. Teen movies. I can never decide if my all-time number one is "She's All That" or "Ten Things I Hate About You". Mmm, tricky..
  4. Very, very sugary treats. Jelly Beans, especially. I'd choose them over chocolate anyday (did I really say that?)
  5. Way too much Ugg Boot wearing. Though they aren't technically Ugg. They are Celtic Sheepskin in fern green and they are very supremely comfortable.
And you? Anything you'd care to own up to?

I'd be more the sort for some brie and crackers rather than the chips - though, they would also be mighty fine! I'm not a sugar girl so much either.
Philippa Gregory has been my time out read this past year, just the right mix of trash and history and as for TV, well, not sure if I should admit it ... but I used to love The Bill ... sigh .. pathetic I know :-)

Oooh, I couldn't put jelly beans above chocolate! Not good chocolate anyway .... What a thought-provoking list. A guilty pleasure of mine? Whooshing through the air on a child's swing in a park :).

ooh, thai sweet chilli chips http://www.smiths.com.au/brands/smiths.htm - but I only seem to enjoy them when I'm pregnant, so I may never eat them again!

and while I'm a HUGE chocolate lover, I think jellybeans are best eaten together with chocolate! one jellybean and one m and m = heaven in a mouthful!

I'm a fruit and nut case myself and have to admit to sneaking in with DD to watch reality shows like Supernanny and World's Strictest Parents and even Snog Marry Avoid - she hates it when I do though because I end up shouting at the TV!

Whilst clearing the gloryhole (aka the cupboard above the stairs in the spare room) I have just unearthed a few 'Smash Hits' mags from 1980/81 & Im going to blog about them. I've had a little giggle over the hairstyles :0
Im a chocoholic but I do also enjoy jellybeans but we dont do sweets in this house as my 8 yr old son refuses to try anything :((
Love this post Sian & thanks for your comment on mine (I was beginning to think no one was reading!) xx

This is spooky, after the DC book, I started reading the new Marian Keyes! The Brightest Star in the Sky. Sweet chilli dipping sauce is one of my all time faves at the moment .. mmmm yum. And don't mention teen movies. I get hooked on US teen programmes on tv. I loved the OC, 90210, and The Hills and am currently working my way through back seasons of One Tree Hill.

I pile of books and an afternoon to read them would be at the top of my list. But I would never choose anything over chocolate!

Definitely She's All that, I just have to her 'Kiss Me'. I do have a liking for anything aniseedy, aniseed balls, cough candy....but I love jelly beans too. For a bit of girly reading you can't beat a Belinda Jones.

1. Zombies reads (at the moment!)
2. Carrot cake... would eat that instead of chocolate any day :P
3. Hot chips dripping in salt & vinegar eaten in the car on a coooooold windy day while parked up and watching waves crashing on the beach. Bliss.
4. Stripy socks.
5. Taking 5 sweeteners in my copious amounts of tea but telling everyone I only take 2.

Love your list Sian - made me grin *g*

The £1 bag of Thorntons chocolates that I pick up from Smiths on a Saturday morning when I buy the newspaper! I hide them in my scrapping desk and eat and enjoy them whilst I spend my Saturday afternoon scrapbooking! I have decided this year that every Saturday afternoon (unless we are going out) I am going to have 'me' time and do what I want to do. This way I am hoping that I will be less stressed and happier to live with!

Love the list Sian, I am with you on number 3. My faves are 13 going on 30 or Legally Blonde. I have seen them so many times I know most of the words....sad eh!

Love this post and guilty pleasures

I too have just started reading Marian Keyes - The Brightest Star in the Sky.

Chocolate digestives dipped in tinned custard.

Pretending to be doing the accounts when I am really digi scrapping.

Wearing my iPod (without it turned on) so no-one bothers to talk to me.

Early mornings with a cup of tea and a piece of chocolate or two.

Fabulous guilty pleasures. Although I have to admit they are very similar to mine. (Might just steal this post idea.)
