Please Welcome..

The Small One's Guest Post

Hello! Today I have taken over the blog to write about the happenings of me. But first I would like to thank everyone who took the time and effort to share their shoe stories with us. I think Mum appreciates it an awful lot; though as she types with two fingers it takes her quite a long time to say thanks or write something interesting. I can type with all ten.

As you already know, my name is The Small One and I am 11 years old. in recent posts you heard that i am very small (hence the name) and so my feet are too.

This is a picture of me and mum last summer when I have just caught her up in shoe sizes. That was a good day. But I am always wondering if I will ever make it to a size 4 (I'm not sure what that is in America). I bought black ballet pumps yesterday for the summer term at school (if I don't get caught because we're not really supposed to wear pumps) and they were a size 2, but my (killer) heels were a size 3. I'm a bit confused about the whole shoe size thing. Why can't every shop just measure in the same way? I'm not really sure about the answer to that, but maybe I'll figure it out one day.

Today Mum would also like me to thank Sandi for kindly giving her this award

I think you know quite a lot about my mum by now, so I will give you a list of 10 things that make mum happy!
  1. My Dad
  2. Nice weather
  3. Lying on loungers in the sun
  4. blogging
  5. Me (!) (and my brother)
  6. Christmas
  7. New shoes (!)
  8. Holidays
  9. Family outings
  10. My baby cousin
Thank you for reading my post today.

Hello The Small One! Just think that in China we'd have a huge range of shoes to choose from - and we'd probably be envied for our really dinky feet :)

Well, Small One, I'd say you did a lovely job at being a guest blogger today! And the photo of you and your mom is adorable.

BTW, I can type with all 10 fingers too, but my daughter can still type WAY FASTER than me!

Welcome The Small One. I loved the story your Mum told the other day about your love for shoes and how she hopes your feet will grow a little more. My daughter is a shoe-addict too (but she is a size 5 now).
It's nice to meet you and I hope you can be a guest blogger again soon ;)

Well, The Small One, I'm not surprised you feature on the list of Things that Make Sian Happy. I hope it wasn't in priority order though!
I share your fondness for new shoes, but I do hate shopping for them, as my feet are a silly shape. I hope you manage to achieve your ambition to reach a size 4 one day!

What a lovely post and what a sweet tribute to your mum : )

Thanks for the visit to my blog and your comments about stitching. A thought for you...you do not need a theme, just stitch one square at a time. Many of the gals had multiple colors and objects in their squares. I do hope you will give it a try, don't plan to much...lol.
Have a wonderful weekend

Hi Small one and congratulations on your guest post. I think you are going to follow in your Mum's footsteps ( even if you are bigger shoe size) for telling us a good tale. Shoe and clothes sizes are just one of lifes mysteries and it's best just to try them on because you'll never be able to fathom it out. Enjoy what is left of your school holidays.

Hello Small One, how lovely to meet you! :-) Appreciate your small feet, hun, you don't want size 9s like mine, believe me.... Thanks for your lovely post, really enjoyed reading it. Good writing must run in the family x

Dear Small One,
When I was your age I had the same size feet as you and whilst I've never grown past 5'1" in height (and I guess I've stopped growing now I am over 50) I do now have size 4 feet, so don't give up hope! We have enjoyed meeting you, but think we need to watch out as now your mum has had one guest writer, it can only be a matter of time before Horsey wants to get in on the act!

Hello Small One! Lovely to *meet* you :)
I can only type with two fingers too, and it takes me ever such a long time to write anything at all....

Welcome to the Blogosphere. I'm in California (near San Francisco),USA, and I have an 11 year old daughter, too. Although her shoe styles tend to Vans/ tennis shoes than pumps.
Thanks for posting.

Hello Small One...good to meet you.
I'm afraid there's no answer to the mystery of measurements being different in different shops....I expect you'll soon notice the same thing happens with clothes as well....but I'm so glad you managed to get your 'killer' shoes....whatever size they said they were!!

Hello there!
Don't wish your feet bigger - seriously - my mum has size 2 feet and she buys childrens shoes that are so much cheaper than adults. The other big bonus to having tiny feet (other than that they are, obviously, so much cuter than big hairy men-feet *lol*) is that so few people have tiny feet, when the sales come on there's always great bargains to have for teeny-toes like you :)

Hello Small One,
I love your funky shoes, almost had me whispering ''there's no place like home'' and clicking my heels three times.
Your post is really fun and I love that you and ur mum have the same size feet. I have size 6-7 depending on the style and shop and because I have wide feet need a size bigger. I also have high insteps so cant wear alot of boots.
Anyway, I think u should guest on the blog more often, maybe we coiuld see some more of ur crafting too!
Hope you are enjoying the Easter break and have a few more days off to relax and get ready for the final days before the summer hols.

Hello Small One - great to meet you. You have seriously good taste in shoes! I don't think you'll end up being the small one in your family - looking at the photo I think you're destined to overtake your mum before too long...

Hello Small One! What a lovely post - you obviously get on really well with your Mum which is lovely - my daughter and I are great friends too and she is nearly 19 now (and borrows my shoes!).

Hello The Small One, Just wait until your height overtakes your mum as well, you can pat her on her head then. My son is the same height as me so it won't be long before he pats my head. I can typle with 4 fingers! But I did learn to use all ten...a long time ago when dinosaurs roamed the earth...or something like that. Btw getting a child to write their blog is known as slave labour in other countries....have you been paid?

Hi TSO, I'm also TSO in my family but that may not be any consolation - I'm the 'short' one at 175cm! I've also got the smallest feet at a size 9 - no, my siblings are not amazons just very tall Australians!
Hey, tell your Mum she looks pretty fabulous in those jeans :-)

Lovely post, and so nice to see the photo of you and your mum. For a while, both my children (adults) were blogging on their own, and I so enjoyed reading their posts. They've given it up. I hope your mum will let you highjack the blog again.

Hi 'the small one'...look on the bright side, at sale time, all the fabulous designer shoe bargains are in size 2-4 or 8+, so while you could afford to be teetering around in gorgeous Jimmy Choo's the rest of us 'average' size 5-6 will still be plodding along in plain old pumps!! Thanks for bringing a smile to my day with your post... TTFN until next time!

Hi Small one. Its much more ladylike to have dainty feet so dont wish to be too big a size. Well done on your blog post :) PS I can type with ten fingers as well

Nice to meet you The Small One, you wrote a lovely guest post and I'm sure your Mum will be very proud of you. My younger daughter has reached size 4 in shoe size but I think she'd like to move up to a size 5 as there are sometimes more shoes in that size. I hope you manage to get to size 4 - and by the way, I loved your (killer) heels - perhaps one day we can see a photo of you wearing them (I'm sure Mummy could make that into a wonderful scrapbook page too!)

Lovely to meet The Small One. I've always been a mean "sensible shoes" Mummy but gave in when my Girl was 15!

Hello small one. That was such a lovely post and so beautifully written too. So it better to have small feet or large feet? Well I have to say small! Whilst your feet are small, you can still wear heels and pretty shoes and I guess if the worst came to the sorst there is always the dreaded insole. My 'little' sister is 3 years younger than me, is 6 feet tall and has size 9 feet! She can only wear flat shoes!
So small can be good!

Hello small one :) ... such a beautiful post, I really think you should have your own blog, you write so beautifully.

Hello Small One! Nice to meet you. What a lovely guest post. I hope your Mum will let you post once in a while to keep us up with the happenings of you!

Hello Small One. I'm at the opposite end of the scale. I have whopping size 9's and find it really difficult to find nice shoes in a ladies style that aren't ridiculously priced. Plus if I wear a dress or skirt I look like a man in drag! Grrr! Cherish your petite tootsies.

Wow! Almost like me! I am the girl from I Speak Melsh, and I really think your like me! You write a bit about your mum,but I am only size 13 and can't type like you....
