Scraps, Cards, Get It Scrapped

So it has only taken me most of the week to realise that I hadn't done anything for World Cardmaking Day. Time to do something about that, I thought, and when I went to pull out some supplies I noticed a layout I hadn't put away yet. It's book paper flower embellishments were fun to make, so I decided to miniaturise them for this card

and then because I was enjoyinmg the colours, I made this one too:

The layout? Here it is:

Sian Fair for Get It Scrapped

and it was made for the latest Get It Scrapped article 6 Ways to Embellish Scrapbook Pages With a Series Cluster

I folded a strip of book paper in half lengthwise, fringed it and rolled it up tight, bit of washi tape to secure it and a dab of Glossy Accents to hold it and the flower centre in place. A white page feels right for our lovely sunny afternoon here today..whatever you are up to I hope you have a chance to get out in the fresh air and take a picture or two. Have a good Thursday!

Those flowers are very cute and I love how you've shrunk the layout to make the cards :)

These flowers are lovely Sian and who ever receives one of those cards will have a big happy smile! Love how your unfinished layout inspired you.

Great flower embellishments! I especially like the colors in that second card - so happy! It's been beautiful weather here & I've had a chance to sit outside & read this week.

Your details are always so lovely to see Sian! I smiled when I saw your post today, the colours and the style reminded me that I am back into blogging and seeing what my friends are saying and creating.

All of these feel sunshiny to me - and we did not have a lovely sunshiney afternoon down south. I was so miffed to miss world card day - hoping to make cards this weekend.

But.... who makes that woodgrain paper?

I've seen lots on handmade flowers, but never any like these which I love! The combination of wood veneer, die cuts and flowers are just perfect!

Your cards and page are lovely. Those flowers are great but I just can't bring myself to cut up books, even ones I bought super cheap for that very purpose. I guess it is the nuns' wee voice in the back of my head that says you don't deface books, not even by writing in them. Maybe I could try them out of newspaper?

S - The book pages were a gift: I'd find it hard to cut up a book myself :)

I read the words in Spanish and rechecked which blog I was reading. :D
With my "no scrap left behind" approach I´m always making cards with left overs right after the layouts.
PS: send me your snail mail address and I´ll send you more pages in an assortment of languages/styles. ;)

Oooh I like those flowers! I totally missed cardmaking day I think! (PS. You can date my layouts from my papers but you need to add a couple of years from release date to when I actually got them! ;-))

Great projects Sian! I am especially fond of your flowers and the stitching in blue right behind the fringes :)

I love the cards Sian. I made some flowers in the same way but used coloured card, and really fine strips. I really like the printed strips you did. You always choose such lovely colours.

Flowers with words on - so 'you', Sian! And Spanish ones too - right up my street :). The layout is one I especially like ....
