Look Up, Look Down

..with Helena's clever weekly series. I've got one today that's a little bit of a cheat. Little bit. It's a two-in-one, a look up look down combination...

At the weekend we were looking at some photos we had just taken with our friends from San Diego.

Am I really that much bigger than everyone else? The Tall One asked

Oho, yes, said his Dad. Stand beside your mother and I'll prove it

So he did and we took this picture and today it's my Look Up, look Down with a twist. Twist? Did somebody say twist? If I stand like this for much longer, I'll end up with what round here we call a "crick" in my neck..

Many thanks to all the Storytellers this month (and hello to the newcomers!) There is still time to add yours to the Storytelling Sunday collection. The linky is open until the end of the week right here

and  you can read more about Storytelling Sunday in the latest issue of Jot magazine, which is free and ready to be enjoyed right here. I was delighted to see my lovely blogging friend Abi in there too this time round. Check it out!

I don't think it's a bit of a cheat at all, I think it's a great photo x

Your photo really made me smile, this sunny morning Sian :o)

All my children are taller than me - but nothing like that! Maybe you just need a fluffier hair-do?

Love that photo! Has TTO had a smallish haircut; he's looking a little less wild?!

Lovely photo and a great twist on look up, look down. I remember when our son began looking down on me. He loved that!

So, I'm guessing that your tall one is 6'4" or else you are 5'. Reminds me of my grandson and me. I'm waiting for the doctor's report---I'm saying 6'4" for him too.
Great photo!

I'm waiting to get a bit of time to sit down with JOt. I think this week's photo of JJ felt a bit of a cheat because although I was looking up at her, the photo was taken (technically) from above. Although I think it sill has a bit of a looking up perspective. And I really liked my pair, so I left it.

Just like Maria, I am reserving some me time to savor this new issue... Congrats on being featured!
Where did your boy get his genes? From his dad?
:D

Gosh he is very very tall! Congratulations on your jot article. I loved reading it and your advice on starting a linky party.

Nah, no cheating ... you're looking up and he's looking down ... fits the bill if you ask me!

My youngest son says he is 6'5" but we have his pencil mark on the wall and it measures 6'7" even allowing for error that is still 1'6" taller than me so I know how your neck feels. My other son is only 6' and my daughter a mere 5'6". They get their tall genes from their father and from my Dad's side of the family.
Being the shortest is something I have grown (hehehe) used to over the years.
I intend spending tomorrow morning reading Jot

Frankly, this is the best Look Up, Look Down of all! It probably is a cheat, but it's wonderful. I've already started enjoying Jot, but it's going to take a bit to get through it. Lots of good stuff!

I think this is the most awesome "look Up, Look Down" photo I have ever seen! Funny, we say a "crick in the neck" here, too.

That is a superb picture Sian! Definitely one for the scrap books. How could he not know that he was so much taller than everyone!

alexa said...

Brilliant photo for scrapbooking - and I am sure you will both smile at this in years to come. I was trying to remember the height of TSO - has she overtaken you yet?

Sian said...

Oh, yes she has :) by a couple of inches..

You will simply have to continue reminding him that you are the mom and that status trumps his height any day. Terrific photo; perfect for the challenge!
