Tent-Ventory

One Saturday afternoon earlier in the summer, we rocked up to Granny's house looking for some fun. Lucky, then, that Little E had got there before us. he was helping Granny enjoy the Great Outdoors, bringing the outside in, he was camping in the living room. With a pop up tent and a kit of essential equipment, carefully arranged for maximum enjoyment,

I didn't even try to fight the urge to join him, so I crawled through the tunnel to find him wrapped in a blanket, pondering a plate of sandwiches and blowing the dust off his borrowed dried flower arrangement. He's a tidy housekeeper, is Little E: likes to keep the place nice.

Ah, we are just so cosy in here he sighed, offering me his hand (Have one of these sweets Auntie Sian. Nobody else likes them) and ringing his Great Ideas Bell. It was time to settle down for a bit of Despicable Me. The Minions said so. And we watched together until we were ready to crawl out again (backwards), in time for tea.

On the way back home in the car, I made a list of the things Little E had been enjoying in his tent. I was in an inventory frame of mind after a call from get It Scrapped and I already had an "inventory" page half finished on my desk.

Sian Fair for Get It Scrapped
The work of the Christmas label maker here points to a winter photo - 2012- as the sunrise alarm clock sheds light on dad's bedside collection. The seeds and the seeds - little starters, little snatches of life. Edited, but accurate.

The idea for this one started with a photo I had taken last year as part of Photo365. Now I'm remembering that I wanted to go back and photograph everyone else's bedside tables too. I wonder if I did it regularly would the collections change? or are we such creatures of habit that they would pretty much stay the same?

The Minions are very popular in this house, too. You should show The Minions singing Barbara Ann on YouTube ~ it's hilarious!

I do like the idea of a Good Ideas Bell. I must put it on my Christmas list!
Another great Little E story.

I think the only change on my bedside table would be the book that's sitting there.....I'm afraid the dust might even be the same!!

I just love Little E stories. He's quite my kind of Little Man! And what's not to like about the Minions?

I love camping Sian, inside or out. And when you are little it is even more fun, as Little E has discovered! He knows how to make it homely with his dried flowers.
As for the bedside table.. this is a regular feature of my 365 photos.
The times I get in bed and remember I haven't taken a photo that day!

May I say?...you sound like the best auntie any young person might have...patient, imaginative, encouraging...

As for night tables...in our house, those are pretty much the same from day to day and reveal only limited information about the owner. His: a lamp (rarely used), the clock/CD/radio/alarm (much better on his side of the bed than mine--it's 1990s styling is way too big for my taste!), and the VCR and TV controllers. Hers: a lamp (used almost daily), a bottle of hand lotion (used daily) and a jar of cuticle cream (used if I happen to remember it).

Now, if you were to ask me about dresser tops, you might get an entirely different tale...

What a lovely inventory E had in his tent! We have totally enjoyed Despicable Me & 2 this summer (even took Minion Dave on our Tennessee road trip . . . but that's a story for another day).

Little E is fantastic!
And I like the idea of "unofficial" collections, like the coins which pile up.

I LOVE being an aunt, so I always love when you post about little E. Such a sweet story, and I'm sure he loved it when you crawled inside the tent with him!

Your layout is lovely, Sian, and I love the prompt for the bedside table. I think I can say that mine has stayed the same for quite some time now.

Gorgeous layout. I imagine that Little E is going to be a great explorer with his tent when he's older :)

Your LO is beautiful with the lovely layered flowers. I would have loved to crawl into that tent with you and Little E. ! Sounds like such a great time. I think I need an idea bell and I always admire a person who pays attention to good decor even while camping. ;)

Oh goody - another Little E story. I do so love those. That's a really nice looking layout and I like the idea of an inventory type page. Hmmm you've got me thinking.
