Today I'm delighted to tell you that I have been invited to join the Creative Team run by the immensely talented Debbie Hodge over at Get It Scrapped. Get It Scrapped is celebrating its fifth anniversary this year and I can still remember how much I learned from some of the very first classes; so it's a real pleasure to know I'm going to be making pages alongside such a fine bunch of scrapbookers.
Debbie has asked everyone on the team to celebrate today by choosing a favourite Get It Scrapped article. well, that took me a while...but I finally decided on
I'll admit it: I buy Project Life products because I can't resist them. Journaling cards, little embellishments, smaller sized patterns on neatly sized papers? That's everything I love. And the examples I found at Get It Scrapped gave me the push I needed to use some of my supplies right here:

Sian Fair You are here
Oh, and if you're visiting me for the first time? I'd love to see you back tomorrow for Storytelling Sunday. Everyone welcome!
Sian, I jumped ahead on the Get It Scrapped blog hop to rush over here in order to congratulate you on your selection for the GIS creative team. I've always enjoyed browsing through their weekly e-mails, but I will certainly be reading them with more interest since I "know" someone on the team. I know you will do great things with them!
ReplyDeleteCongrats for being selected for the Creative Team - you'll do them proud! Like you, I'm a sucker for the Project Life "stuff" so I need to go check out that article!
ReplyDeleteOh Sian what a beautiful page and what a beautiful little blog you have here! I'm so excited you'll be joining us this year!
ReplyDeleteI have to admit I am a Project Life journal card junkie, though I don't do PL. I love your take on using these journal cards :D

I enjoyed every single class I took from Get it Scrapped, about 6 or 7, I think. Congrats!

This made me laugh! (and I can relate to a lot of them :P) I, too, have lots of PL cards but hardly ever use them because they seem too perfect; never thought to distress them - duh!! Now I know how to make them work for me :D
ReplyDeleteI'm a newbie on the team, too - excited to be working alongside such creative people!
stunning page! love your humor too. so excited to be on the team with you.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations - you will definitely be a great addition to the Get It Scrapped team. I was just browsing the GIS site last weekend and found lots of sketches to use!
ReplyDeleteI can definitely see you being drawn to the Project Life items as you always have lots of little bits & pieces on your layouts. I enjoyed reading your "confessions!"
Congratulations! I have never heard of Get it Scrapped but I am sure they will benefit from your input. Well done that girl!!
ReplyDeleteMany congratulations on your first appearance as part of the team! And I am fascinated to read the bit about designing and moving on - that's the sort of thing I would have expected me to say, not you :).
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on joining the DT team - looking forward to seeing your work over there too. Favourite article huh? That is tricky there are so many in my files...
ReplyDeleteThis is such a great page and refreshing use of PL stuff, Sian!! I'm happy to get create with you this you.

ReplyDeleteCongratulations! I have only just recently heard of Get It Scrapped and still hadn't had a chance to check it out. You've provided me with a shove in their direction and I will go have a look now :-)
ReplyDeleteWonderful way to use your stash. I am looking forward to working with you this year.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on getting chosen for the design team!!
ReplyDeleteYou know what's funny? I have a whole lot of PL stuff as well and don't use it because I don't know what to do with all the small stuff!
ReplyDeleteHey, this is such great news - and I love it that you're on a DT because I know you will do your best to showcase journaling and the heart of scrapping. Congratulations!
congratulations Sian - how lovely and a great project to start with. I also admire all the PL goodies - i've not...yet...purchased any though! maybe that will change especially now i've seen your beautiful layout x
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun title! I can totally relate. Looking forward to being on the team with you this year!
ReplyDeleteI tend to collect the Project Life items, too. Love the way you used them on this page!
ReplyDeleteSo fun! And a really great way to use those purchases of project life-stuff. I love the subject of your page as well. Looking forward to working with you on the creative team this year. :-)
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing your habits, love the layout, great use of the dark brown to tie everything together. Lovely to have you on the team for this next year.
ReplyDeleteSian, this is such a fun layout. I love it. Your bit about losing embellishments and having a 'never as tidy as it should be' desk made me smile. I can relate :)
ReplyDeleteCongrats lovely! That is super news. I remember doing classes with Doris and Dina way back. Your LO is gorgeous. I am always tempted by those cards that come out at 12x12 that you cut out...I love that you get multiple patterns for the price of one.
ReplyDeleteHUGE congrats :)
ReplyDeleteSian, I was so happy when I checked in at Get it Scrapped and saw you were on the design team, your work is fabby! Many, many congrats! x
ReplyDeleteSo thrilled to be on the team with you Sian! And your page is lovely although it is not photoless. I had to smile about your comment of loosing embellies right before you need to adhere - I suffer a similar fate - I keep track of the embellishment - it's the adhesive I cannot find even though I just had it a second ago.
ReplyDeleteloving that layout, the colors are awesome!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on joining the DT! I am a Project Lifer, as you well know, but I'm also finding more and more ways to use the products on "normal" pages. I love this page!
ReplyDelete(And did you know that you had a mention of the Home page on UKScrappers? First time I stop by in about 18 months and there you are!)
Wow she invited you personally, I've always dreamed of that happening and here you are living the dream. Congratulations,
ReplyDeleteJo xxx
How exciting! I used to spend a lot of time over there, but haven't recently. I'm quite sure your presence will put it on my list again! Congratulations, they're lucky to have you.
ReplyDeleteWhat? I am finding out about this almost a month later!!! Shame on me! Huge congrats to you Sian! That is a smart and brilliant place for you to be DTing! (mmh, I think I just made up a verb!)
