Five Reasons To Love An Uncle

..who stepped off the plane this week and will be here for the next year. Hurrah!

With contributions from the family. I'll leave you to guess who might have said what:

1. He is living on our top floor, so Mum can't be up there scrapbooking when we need her for something important. Like making the dinner.

2. He offered to read some blogs and do some commenting. Mum stopped him when she found out he thought "That's some super sticking" would about cover it for everyone.

3. He knows someone who knows Angelina Jolie

4. He came to watch me playing the flute for Sound of Music and when we got home he said he couldn't remember much of the story because he had been watching the orchestra all the way through. And he didn't even do all the embarassing things he said he was going to do.

5. He is going to buy a car and when I get my licence (in eight months!) he says I can drive it. Oh yes.

Welcome Home Uncle Dave!

  2. I'm guessing that number 5 is from The Tall one and number 4 is from The Small One, but after that it's anyone's guess! I fell about laughing at number 2, and am longing to try using myself! Super post and super uncle.

  3. i think the tall one and small one the same for no. 1 and then the tall one for no. 2, tall one for angelina, defo the small one for the flute, and the tall one for the car of course!! welcome home dave, nice to meet you at last xxx

  5. That's so nice! I hope Uncle Dave feels appreciated!
My nieces and nephew are very special people and mean a lot to me. I hope I also don't "do embarrassing things".
It was good of him to pay attention to TSO's flute playing and to promise to let TTO drive his car.
Shame about the scrapbook room - but loss of that must have its compensations. I'd offer a share of my studio, 'cept it's a long way from there to here (and it's still in a big mess right now!).
Hope Uncle Dave will be very happy staying at your house (and that you give him a post or two of his own now and then, so we can get to know him - assuming he wishes to be "got to know" by your friends!)

  6. Welcome Uncle Dave - who doesn't look old enough to drive! If "super sticking" wears a bit thin, he could always try "neat cutting" (especially for the transatlantic blogs)!

  7. Sounds like you are going to enjoy Uncle Dave staying with you, have fun xx

  16. I heart Uncle Dave and totally want a patented Uncle Dave comment on my blog. Let him loose!

This makes such fab journalling that I almost want to scrapbook it. Feel it would be somewhat out of place in my album however:

"Here's my page about Uncle Dave" "Oh, I didn't know you had an Uncle Dave"
    "I don't"

  17. Uncle Dave sounds like a real Cool Dude to some in your house. :0)

  18. I was told by two different children at school that I was 'good at cutting'. So super sticking might be a step up!

  19. Sounds like everyone is pleased to have Uncle Dave around! Perhaps "super sticker" of the week could be new feature on your blog! Have fun.

  22. The Melsh contingent says 'Hi' to Uncle Dave too :) He's welcome to comment on my sticking, but may I respectfully suggest that he goes for 'super pasting' instead to cover the digi scrappers among us? xx

  23. Hello Uncle Dave. If I see super sticking appear in my comments I'll know who has paid a visit.

  27. Welcome home, uncle Dave! I am sure you will be providing more reasons for us to smile in the coming year. Maybe you will even become a "super sticker"

  28. Uncle Dave strikes me as the type of guy who doesn't like to be stuck in a rut, so I suggest he adds 'positive paper placement', 'embellishment enhanced' and 'luscious layout' to expand his repetoire ... just to keep us on our toes!

  29. :o) Super cute post, Sian! Hooray for fun visitors. Enjoy his company. ♥

  30. Enjoy your year together. My two adored having one of their own uncles staying with us, he had wonderfully different rules to the boring parents after all ;)

I like the super sticking - he could alternate with JimJam's 'neat cutting' and 'CUUUTE!' you know you could be on to something there Uncle Dave ;)

  32. Uncle Dave looks (and sounds) like a very nice chappie! I bet you'll enjoy having him around so much. Except for the loss of scrap space. Where will you be crafting now?
I like lynn's 'super sticker of the week' idea!
