"The Tiny Ones Get On Splendidly"

My turn on the Gossamer Blue blog has rolled round again; and this time I travelled way back: not just with my photo (which is of a very small Sian) but also with my supplies, which are from a kit of about a year ago.

From High In The Sky for Gossamer Blue

Some of the Creative Team pulled together a "Retro Redo" for April ( because of course, while a fresh new kit is pretty fine, a much loved older one deserves a little attention too). and for my contribution, I came up with a recipe for using up whatever you might find, on one of those days when you stick your hand in a bag of leftovers supplies and hope something you like comes to the surface.

It's a "moveable feast": one of those recipes you can supplement with a little of whatever you have on hand, and take out whatever you don't like. And it'll work every time. You can find it here on the Gossamer Blue blog : let me know if it's useful and I'll stir up another one.

Oh, and that tiny baby? She got on just fine, and when she had a tiny baby of her own some years later, Auntie Ed was still around to repeat her advice. Which turned out to be right, Any guesses on weight anyone?

  1. I know it's only a tiny sliver of your mum in that photo but that does look like you, doesn't it?

As for your weight well ... I was 5lb something and you look as tiddly as I did, so I'll guess 5lb 6oz. (Do I win your weight in sweets?)

  2. My own tiny baby was 5lb 5oz. I was thinking similar for you, but when I met my great nephew as a new born he seemed tiny and weighed rather more than that!

  4. Well my own tiny baby was 3lb 5oz. I don't think you look quite that small so I would go for 5lb 1oz. I honestly thought that was you holding a baby. The likeness in that small snippet is remarkable. What a lovely photo it is too!

  9. This is beautiful Sian and such a great page recipe. I too had a little baby. My now gangly long legged nearly as tall as me 17 yr old daughter was only 4lb 2 when born. She panicked us all a bit at the start but all is good now :)

  10. Well, Rachel was 5lb 10oz when she was born and you look smaller than that so I'm going with 5lb 2oz.

  11. You did get on splendidly!! My guess would be 5 lbs. 6 oz. I have no idea what that is in UK weight!! Would it be kilos?

    How precious!!
My first born was 11 pounds and she looked double your size so I would also guess around 5 something?

  16. Such a very pretty page, with that lovely floral pink ... And aren't you just lovely? As to your weight? Hmm, mine were 7 and 8 lbs so I am guessing about five and a quarter.
