Me On Monday

It was a weekend of food and flowers. A let's meet up with Little E for a Saturday night pizza weekend.

Beard note: yes, we have two in the family now

A let's take Granny some Sunday dinner weekend. Which also turned into a "I've got lots of plants for you to pot up for me" weekend. And then a "Quick the rain's on, inside without any photos" weekend.

So it was a pizza and pasta guzzling, too full for icecream, who let him drink all that coke now we need to take him to the bathrooms again weekend. And a roast gammon and crispy potatoes, ooh let's finish up with a malteser traybake weekend. But the best meal of all? I suspect it was the one we spotted on Facebook, with a boy and his beard and his dinner jacket and his bow tie. Nice work if you can get it, as they say.

Me? I'm planning a light and healthy stirfry for dinner tonight. I've been out to the wool shop for supplies (for my cowboy crochet blanket, not my stirfry). This is what happens when you try to take a picture of yourself looking in the wool shop window, and someone comes along and stands behind you, and doesn't move, and you try to pretend you are actually on the phone and not taking strange selfies...

Last week Eileen T, Ladkyis, Deb, Ruth, Helena, Jane, Alison, Karmacraft, Krafty Karen and Starnitesky all gave us a Monday wave. Go on, give 'em a wave back! And have a great week!

  5. I'm thinking it would be fun to see what kind of a selfie Little E would have come up with!
I'm pleased I'm not the only one too self conscious to take pictures of myself out in public. An interesting shot!

  10. I agree with Deb, would be fun to see a Little E selfie - with an explanation that only Little E could concoct. Sounds like you were had a grand weekend.

  12. Sounds like you have had a great weekend. Shame you couldn't get the photograph that you wanted. Malteaser traybake sounds great - do you have the recipe? I'm waving back at you again this week, albeit at a late hour!!

  13. That's a perfect start for a 'Bad Portraits 2015' collection. That's exactly the kind of thing that happens to me!

Not wishing to be outdone we're a 2 beard family too [Dad and James]. Although only one of those has needed to use my hair straighteners to de-kink theirs...don't ask.

    Happy blanket-making. :-)

  14. A fun, family weekend. Also the best kind. I laughed at your selfie too! I've often ended up with funny half shots of all sorts of things, because somebody has walked by at a crucial moment.

  16. ah, carb overload! Always happens when out with family - my weekend was similar and I'm still paying for it! And I think it is funny that our generation is so self-conscious about selfies, but my daughters think NOTHING of it!

  17. I always learn something new with your posts. I had to look up a couple things, but I learned a "gammon" was ham and a maltese tray bake is some sort of dessert. Unusual names makes those dishes all the more enticing to me!

  18. LOL, I know exactly what you mean about people being around when you're taking photos like that. I'm alway so self conscious about it. :) I had a Monday post but no picture to go along with it. Maybe I can get one later today or early tomorrow. I need to get back in the swing of things. :)

  20. That selfie totally made me laugh as I wave back from a wet and gray Texas, procrastinating on the housework I need to do today before the start of two spring break trips!
