Yesterday I tried out my picture frame pinboard. Here I have it displaying a selection of the beautiful cards I have been sent in the last few months:
The board turned out to be very easy to make. I just took out the glass and used the clips on the frame to hold in a piece of chicken wire instead. A line of glue from a hot glue gun would hold it firm too. It's very light and easy to move about the house - maybe I'll find a different spot for my next picture!
Today I hope to make something with my pack of Plundered Pages, very kindly supplied by Julie from her lovely etsy shop The Carousel Zebra. If you like vintage ephemera you'll love these. "I cut up the books so you don't have to," Julie says. And of course that's perfect for me! She pulled together a wonderfully personalised pack of vintage paper pieces for me - I mean, look what she found:
It's almost too nice to use! Instead of sticking it down I might have to frame it. Thank you Julie. I love it.
Tomorrow...I'll still be laughing at the picture Helena sent me last week. I had been admiring her photos of New York, and expressing my complete envy of the fact that she had stumbled upon a film set for the new Batman film. I am a big fan of Batman, and I told her, so she made me this:
I'm definitely going to be turning it into a layout. I love it too. Thanks Helena!
Have a great Tuesday, whatever you are up to.

I've been plotting what to do with the leftovers from my large outdoor frame now.
ReplyDeleteAnd as for framing ... since I've started collecting/cutting up the old books you've no idea how often I've said 'I think I'll frame that one'! Some are so hard to part with!
I think I may be asking for picture frames [and walls] for Christmas.

ReplyDeleteOooh - I have to have a go at that frame. We always have chicken wire laying around here where Craig is always altering his aviary/birdy space... alright I may need to pluck feathers off it first but hey ho!
ReplyDeleteI think you definitely need to frame that "high in the sky" page and hang it in your scrap room! Very cool!
ReplyDeleteI absolutely love your chciken wire frame/pegboard! What a great idea! Might have to check out that etsy shop too, how lovely!
ReplyDeleteI love your finished pinboard Sian and I'm looking forward to seeing it photographed on location.

ReplyDeleteI picked up an old children's picture book of Moby Dick this past weekend and am hoping to turn it into a journal for our upcoming cruise. I have it all planned out in my head . . . now I need to find time to do it!!
the cards look so pretty on that board!! just checked out Julie's etsy store, there are some wonderful things there and I will be very interested in seeing what you do with your "high in the sky" picture :)
ReplyDeleteI've been eyeing up Julie's plundered pages too, but I'm not allowed to spend any more on scrap supplies this month! She's found you the perfect piece of paper there! x
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh that picture is soooo funny! And I totally LOVE your "pinboard", really inspiring. Bet it would be quite the challenge trying to find chickenwire in Dubai!
ReplyDeleteLove Helena's captiond picture... so very you Sian *lol*
ReplyDeleteThe pinboard looks fab... if you can't find chickenwire in Dubai, could you find flower-makers wire instead... or even pin heavy-ish twine in a criss-cross pattern behind the frame (previous comment).
Just a thought :)
I love the idea of this inspiration board. I wonder if I could get my proverbial into gear to make one for myself?... lovely
