You Don't Know What You've Got..

..til it's gone. It sounds as if many of you have been having blogger bother.  It's hard to imagine, isn't it? Fixing something as big as blogger?

Anyway, I got my walk by the sea at the weekend and I got some photos. Round here I play with colour all the time: I scrap with it, sew with it, use it round the house. When I'm at the seaside, I like things to be serene; and so my decorating goes like this:

The view from the back door - that's why I keep the rest of it light and bright

I'm really not good with plants, so I cheat. This is a (sshh! ) fake from Bloom Mail Order

Print and frame from Ikea. The boat was a gift. The painted chest of drawers is an old one from years ago. I paint lots of our old furniture in Antique Cream to freshen it up - I take my shade card to the Trade Cente and get them to mix up big tins of good quality eggshell.

Another Bloom plant and Ikea seaside print. The armchair came from a Homebase sale and the ticking curtains I made with factory shop fabric

Cream Captains's Light

Bedside table from Ikea, cushions from Cath Kidston, the swan is from a gift shop and the bedframe is painted taupe

And that's From High In The Sky - Seaside style.

  2. Sian , I googled my problem today .... every time I tried uploading a photo I had a server rejection message .... there was some advice to switch back to the old blogger editor as apparently it has something to do with reaching a photo capacity and the new editor doesn't automatically reset. Well, I did it to add the photos and then switched back to the updated editor to properly place the photos and it worked.

I'm not sure if this was part of your problem but it seems you have managed to upload so all must be good again!

I love being by the sea, it is rejuvenating and inspiring ... not to mention peaceful and calming :-)

  9. I'm so jealous of your view from the back door. Georgous seaside colour palate. But seeing as my favourite colour is red I would have to slip a little in. Fab photo btw.

  22. Gorgeous view - serene indeed. Must de-clutter, must de-clutter or I'll never be able to take such stylish pictures of my home - it'll never be Homes&Gardens material, but it's certainly not shareable atm!
