It was a rugby weekend. There's no other way to put it. A really? already? The Six Nations Competition starts today weekend. A put our feet up in front of the television weekend. A trip to the Sports Shop to look for birthday presents weekend.
An are you sure you're serious about Girls' Rugby? weekend. Also, then, an if you suggest wearing my brother's old boots one more time, I'm going on strike weekend. Which of course means a back to the sports shop day next weekend.
And today? On Monday? I'm pulling out an old photo and remembering what rugby weekends once looked like here, almost twenty years ago to the day, when I came downstairs after a nap and discovered my tiny new baby wrapped in a very large shirt. Wouldn't even look at him now, of course. But you knew that.

Love the baby photo. Yes we too have girl rugby. So elegant! She comes home with interesting bruises and yes had to have new boots!

ReplyDeleteMr M and youngest son watched the rugby. Wales lost so there was a post mortem and much muttering. Youngest son being back home with his momma because the not even a year old marriage has fallen apart......... haven't asked for details
Now that's my kind of weekend Sian. You know we all love a little rugby here. I did gasp when i read girl rugby.....I don't mind watching it, but i wouldn't want to play it!! x

ReplyDeleteI have to admit I've never seen a rugby match, and I know next to nothing about it. I do know, though, that that is one adorable baby photo!
ReplyDeleteI prefer rugby to football, if I have to watch anything. I had a friend who played woman's rugby at uni and traveled all over the world playing.

ReplyDeleteBut a close friend has similar photos of her small baby in All Black suits. They went to all the matches with him... he was very well travelled before his first birthday!
So cute! I don't do sports so wasn't aware of it but I love how 'Me on a Monday' captures all of these moments :)
