It was a quick! we have to collect her from the bus weekend. A can't wait to hear all about it weekend. A show us every single picture weekend.
And so we found out about the orphanage and the TB ward, the Old Peoples Home and the Psychiatric Hospital. And we listened to stories of bubble blowing and baby cuddling
of face painting and having fun and being frightened all at the same time. Late nights, snowball fights. Strange food, every mood you could imagine.
And then we took away her laundry and we set a plate of toasted sandwiches in front of her and we sat back and marvelled at it all.
After which we said bine ai venit acasă, which Uncle Dave made sure we understood means Welcome Home. In Romanian.
It was a good weekend.
What are you up to this Monday? Last week Becky, Deb, Ruth, Helena, Jane, Rachel, Alison, Ladkyis and Alexa all gave us a wave. I'm waving back! Have a good week.

What super photos! I love the one of the two of you, and the one of her with the little baby. Clearly a natural! You must be thrilled to have her home. I remember it felt strange the first time my DD was away having an experience which I didn't get to share with her at the time. But how wonderful it was to hear all about it through her words and memories (no mobile phones in thise days, of course). Hoping you really enjoy being back together.
ReplyDeleteIt sounds like it was quite an adventure. Glad she's safely home and btw, I love that photo of the two of you.
