Hot Chip

It was turning out to be a bit of a slow news day here at High In The Sky until I came home and found The Small One cooking oven chips with a hairdryer.

She said it was an experiment, but that they were delicious and would I like some?

I was telling a friend about it yesterday. he said, "What are you waiting for, Sian? Write it down and save it. You'll want to use it in a speech at her wedding reception."

I thought he was right. So here it is :

I am not, under any circumstances, showing either of my two this post - this is exactly the sort of thing they would do! So good to see enquiring minds at work! :-)

I'd have to get my hairdryer checked by an electrician first, it's been so many years since I've used it! at least she knows it works, and can pass the lesson on to others...

You should ask her how big a carbon footprint that creates - and then photograph the facial expression when she thinks it through

Whenever your stories pop up in my blogroll, I'm drawn in immediately. I do love your way with words :)

I can just imagine the scrapbook open right next to the wedding cake.

Hair dryered oven chips - how did she even think of that?

OK. I am not a scientist. I have often wondered 'ehat sort of brain first thought that might work?' You obviously have an inventor in making

That is an amazing story and LO, did you make our title letters yourself? They are fab! Also is your rosette from one of Tim H's dies??

Love the things you post and scrap about Sian and this one is a corker!

Your story made me smile (through the jet lag) :) and reminded me of how my Dad was always very fond of repeating the story of when I was little and made him a cup of tea. When he commented that it wasn't very hot I replied ' well, that's as hot as it comes out of the tap!'

LOL - he's definitely right.

Hmmmm, think I will keep to the old fashioned method of using the oven. Who does your daughter take after then with her inspired experiments? Love the Lo esp. the catherine wheel embellishment.

Wonderful page - exactly the sort of thing that needs recording. TSO will never starve methinks!

Wonderful! The Small One is a very inventive person. I wonder what she will do with that amazing mind of hers?
She could try cooking chips with a craft heat-gun (and oven gloves on!) - they get very hot... interesting experiment (if you can trust her not to burn herself or the kitchen worktops!).
Great scrap page. I love to scrap about these oddities of life - somehow I seem to make a better job of that kind of l/o than the cute and cuddly type!
The rosette is so pretty - I love its paper-cut edge.

That's definately one that had to be recorded for the future! Reminds me of the children of a work colleage who made a surprise cup of tea for their mum by putting everything into the kettle before boiling it - tea bag, milk and water!

Lovely layout! Who knows, maybe this is the start of a unique culinary career...

Ok, I've got to ask .... how long was she "cooking" them for LOL. And errrr, did you taste one? I love her thought process, that's for sure.

Who'd have known that the humble hair drier was so adaptable! Very inventive of her and definitely one for telling her future husband.
Those linen shirts look fab, and trust me, you would get that crispness back with my all singing all dancing iron. One of those pressurised huge water tank super steamers, bought one a year ago, ironing time has halved!
