December Continued

I'm still going with my December Album and I have three more pages to show you today. I've been asked about the misting..it's Maya Mist and I have four bottles - orange, blue, brown and green - which, handily enough, happen to be the colours I've chosen for my album. My technique might still be a bit hit-and-miss (although not so much miss since I discovered the spray-your-page-inside-a-cardboard-box trick); but what I love is the speed. It's easy to create a bit of interest on the page. Fast. And you know I like fast. I also like a bit of sewing and these are the first two canvas pages I've done. One has a rubon border and the other has proper cross stitch. It wasn't fast and I'm not sure I'd do it again; but it was fun to experiment. What do you think?

Today I'm Loving...The most unusual cross stitch kits I've come across in a long time. It's Banksy as you've never seen him before. Here

  6. Sian,
Great job! I learned about the joys of mists in Dina's art journal class last month - I know you mentioned you'd taken one of hers, as well.

I love the then/now and jobs pages. Such great images & journal strips.

Finally, I love the recurrent house images. That's a shape that really calls to me.

  7. Like the misting, Sian. I have one of those old mouth-operated sprayers - you may have used one in Art lessons at school. I really must find it - it'll spray most liquids quite successfully and produces (with practice!) a nice fine mist. Cardboard box is a great idea.

I also like the canvas pages. The cross stitch is pretty - worth the extra time.

  10. That misting process sounds like fun! Santa is hopefully bringing me a mini sewing machine, so I'm hoping to get to grips with stitching on LOs.

  13. I have some mist too and I'm not sure I have the necessary qualifications to use it! ie A level patience and a GCSE in artistic ability.
Mine doesn't come out nearly so even as yours, where am I going wrong?!

  17. Does the rubon adhere well to the fabric?
The fabric pages are so lovely - I know I'm not a crafty gal but, I'd like to try this - how do you get everything to stay on? Apart from stitching that is ....
I think I need a place high in the sky so I have the room to spread out - lack of space stifles my creativity ;-) that's my excuse anyway!
