Creative Circle Blog Party

There's something about Shimelle; and Shimelle's classes; and the folks you meet on those classes that gathers you up and sweeps you along. And before you know it, you are doing all sorts of things you had never thought of doing before. Which is how I found myself at Rinda's Creative Blog Party today. Maybe that's how you found your way here? You're very welcome! Isn't Rinda just the hostess with the most-esst? Did you check out what she'd made for you? Very cool. And what about Jacky? I bet you had fun over at her blog too. Now there's a girl who knows how to show a card a good time.
And now you're here. All this partying has me feeling more than a little ruffled today, as you can see. Rinda asked me to serve you up a scrapbook page and here it is:

We spent some time this summer making what we could of our tiny urban plot; and with what we've learnt (oh, what we've learnt) we hope to grow again next year. So, this page is to remind us of our resolution for 2010. The ruffled edge was an experiment. I thought it looked like the top of a potato sack; and I kind of liked it. And then I started to love it and all sorts of ruffle-y ideas started to come. What about creamy white linen with little shell buttons? for a wedding or heritage page (with contrasting cardstock for a country look or cream card for a soft, soft style). Or gathered brown felt? It turned out a bit folksy and fun; and ready to add to my canvas Christmas album. Or gingham? I gave it more of a pleat than a gather and held it together with little red floss cross stitches. I didn't worry too much about keeping it all neat and even; because it's meant to be a bit home-y and cosy: so my page looks toucheable and textured. I'm going to put one round the outside of a diecut ledger page next. Just try to stop me!

But I know that's not nearly enough fun for one day. I hear you need more. Which you'll get if you head over to Mel's. Things are looking pretty rosy over there I believe. She's really worth a visit.
